Scout’s Report
Emery had a wild night with four daddies. And now they’re offering her more. $20,000 for the weekend. Just a little more time invested, and she’ll be three times better off than she was after the first booking alone. And hell, she actually enjoyed the night in the hotel. So let’s do it.
Emery now gets to see the daddies’ personal penthouse, full of their own collections of toys. This is where she’ll really get to know the men, and where she knows they’ll strip her down bare in more than one sense. Will she make it through the weekend? Or an even scarier thought, will she want even more?
Wayfarer’s Log
I am loving this series more than I thought I would. The first book started out a little rough, yet kept me reading with the promise of a good time. As it delivered, I dove straight into Good Girl, which did not disappoint.
This book delves deeper into each of the men’s preferences with a wider array of kinks portrayed. Since the story can unfold over a weekend rather than just one night, Madison has time to truly flesh out the scenes and provide a good amount of stage-setting detail. And because of her real-life experience in the BDSM world, the scenes carry real weight. You’ll likely be thinking to yourself that this is probably how it’s actually done. Interesting! Not all of the play was for me, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. And apparently Emery enjoyed it even more.
I am personally a sucker for shadow daddies. As terrifying as they would be in the real world, they do something for me in books. Xavier is absolutely a shadow daddy, just without the shadows. He’s mysterious and has quite the dark side to him, but at the same time he treats Emery with reverence. He even gets his own internal struggle in this book, since his is the darkest kink and the one that so many women have said “red” to before. Will Emery finally be the one who loves it, along with everything else the other daddies have in store?
We get a lot more of all the daddies in this one, not just Xavier. We see their softer sides as well as their “scene” personas. And with their preferences naturally comes character development. We begin to learn why each man likes what he likes, from control to artistic expression. Derek, Hudson, Darcy, and Xavier turn into something more memorable than just “the four guys from that one wild night.”
I still didn’t fall in love with Emery, but she began to grow on me a little in this one. She doesn’t annoy me at all, which is something to be said when it comes to FMCs. The struggle of wanting these feelings to be reciprocated while remembering this is just a job definitely plays with her head. She tries to not care, but with every scene, these men are stringing her tighter into their sexy web. The only thing that did make me raise my eyebrow was how easily she passes out, but upon some research, apparently this can absolutely happen in situations like this, so I gave it grace.
This book’s plot also revolves around the sex scenes, of which there are a lot more, hence the higher spice rating. But I noticed Madison seemed to be having more fun with the plotting this time. Like the story was going somewhere good and she could feel it. I felt it too, right into book three.
Voice of the Bard
Great audiobook! I love the decision to use two male narrators and one female. Of course, five different people would have been the cherry, but that also would have been a lot more expensive. And everyone does a fantastic job on this. I believe them as the characters and feel the heat dripping off of every scene. Lush, ripe, juicy.
Journey’s End
Good Girl is a fantastic follow-up to Sugar Baby. We get more kinks, more character, and even more plot. It might not be a magnum opus, but it sure as hell is a good time. And what’s reading for but to sweep yourself away into a story and have some fun for a little while? Time to get swept into Brat Baby next!
I’d recommend this for:
- Readers who liked Sugar Baby and want the deeper cut
- Shadow daddy vibes (Xavier delivers)
- Kink breadth seekers — shibari, knife play, blood play, orgasm denial all on page
- Anyone chasing the 6-flame spice rating with actual craft behind it
- Reverse harem readers who want the FMC to fall for all four, not pick just one
- Readers who appreciate IRL-informed BDSM writing with real consent frameworks
Publisher’s Summary
Four daddies. One weekend of pleasure and pain. Twenty thousand dollars.
Last night, they rocked my world.
Now they want to keep me for the weekend.
When I got the private invitation notification with the two red gift boxes, I almost passed out. Twenty thousand dollars, on top of the ten thousand I’ve already earned?
I wouldn’t have to work for my entire college career. I could concentrate on studying and maybe even graduate early. My future could be here sooner than I ever considered.
So, turning down their offer would be stupid, right? What’s two more days of them using me however they please? Letting them strip away my dignity until I’m nothing but a begging mess of a girl at their feet?
One more weekend. That’s all their new contract covers.
Then they will be done with me.
It doesn’t matter that I want them to keep me for good.
No, all that matters is that I’ll be set to concentrate on my future after this weekend.
I’ll never have to rely on someone else to support me.
I’ll never have to use the SugarLife app again.
I’ll never have to see them again.
And that’s exactly what I want.
Good Girl is the second book in the Sugar Life series. It is a high-steam why choose romance with one baby girl, four daddy doms, one weekend of extreme pleasure, and delving deeper into the world of kink.
